It is with great pride and heartfelt excitement that I return to Blanche Ely High School as a member of the administrative team. Blanche Ely holds a special place in my heart because it is here, as a Literacy Coach, that the foundation of my leadership journey was established. It was also here that I had the privilege of working alongside an exceptional team whose unwavering commitment to excellence contributed to Blanche Ely earning its historic inaugural "A" school grade. Those experiences shaped the leader I have become and continue to influence how I serve students, families, and colleagues today. Returning in this new capacity is more than a professional milestone—it is a homecoming. I return with a grateful heart, honored and blessed to once again serve the Blanche Ely community.
I have proudly served Broward County Public Schools for 23 years, including 13 years at the middle school level. That experience has given me a deep understanding of one of the most important transitions in a student's educational journey—from middle school to high school. As your 9th grade assistant principal, I am committed to helping our newest Tigers navigate that transition with confidence, encouragement, and every opportunity to succeed.
I believe every student deserves to be known, valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. Student success is strongest when students, families, schools, and the community work together. It truly takes a village, and I value the voice, perspective, and partnership of every stakeholder as we work toward the success of every child.

Malcolm Spence III is a dedicated and passionate educator with over 30 years of experience in the field of education. Currently serving as the Assistant Principal at THE Historic Blanche Ely High School, Mr. Spence is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
With a background in Language Arts, Mr. Spence has a proven track record of implementing innovative teaching strategies and programs that enhance student engagement and achievement. Mr. Spence holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from West Virginia State University and earned master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Educational Leadership.
Throughout his career, Mr. Spence has been recognized for his leadership skills, ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, and their dedication to continuous improvement. In his role as Assistant Principal, Mr. Spence oversees Social Studies, JROTC, World Languages, Physical Education, Technology, Facilities and Athletics, ensuring that the school's mission and vision are effectively carried out.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Spence enjoys Officiating and Coaching Track and Field, which helps maintain a well-rounded and balanced life. He is excited to continue making a positive impact at Blanche Ely High for the 19th year and looks forward to supporting the growth and success of every student.

I am proud to serve as an Assistant Principal at Blanche Ely High School. I bring more than a decade of experience in education and school leadership within Broward County Public Schools. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Fort Valley State University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
My leadership philosophy is simple: "Excellence Lies in the Details." I believe that meaningful relationships, high expectations, and intentional attention to the small things create the foundation for student success and a strong school community.
I am committed to supporting students, collaborating with teachers, and partnering with families to ensure every scholar has the opportunity to reach their full potential. I look forward to working alongside the Blanche Ely community as we continue the school's tradition of excellence.
My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Mathematics, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Fine Arts, Speech, Security Personnel, the School Resource Officer (SRO), and Paraprofessionals.
With fourteen years of dedicated service in Broward County Public Schools, I am truly honored to be part of the Blanche Ely High School family. My journey in education has been driven by a deep passion for helping students grow, succeed, and realize their full potential. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Social Science Education from The Florida State University, followed by a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Social Science from Florida Atlantic University, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Capella University.
As a proud member of the Tiger Family, I have the privilege of supporting our Science, CTACE, Magnet, and Clerical teams, working alongside incredible educators and staff who are committed to excellence every day. What I love most about my role is building relationships with students and staff, creating opportunities for success, and celebrating every achievement along the way.
As the Assistant Principal for the Class of 2027, my goal is simple and unwavering: to ensure that every single student walks across that stage. Together, we will support, motivate, and uplift one another, because our students are more than capable of greatness.
I am proud to serve as the Office Manager at Blanche Ely High School, where I work to ensure that our daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. In my role, I support students, staff, and families by helping create a welcoming, organized, and responsive school environment. I value clear communication, teamwork, and consistency, and I strive to make every interaction positive and productive. Being part of a school community that is dedicated to student success is something I take seriously, and I am committed to contributing to that mission each day.
