Medical Sciences
Blanche Ely’s Medical Science Magnet Program offers two dynamic healthcare pathways designed to prepare students for industry‑recognized certifications and real‑world clinical experiences.
Our Practical Nursing (LPN) Track provides a rigorous, multi‑year sequence that includes advanced health science coursework, nursing foundations, and extensive clinical rotations culminating in eligibility to sit for the NCLEX‑PN licensure exam. Students gain hands‑on skill development, and direct exposure to professional nursing environments.
Our Allied Health Track equips students with essential competencies for high‑demand healthcare roles through courses such as Health Science Foundations, EKG Technician, and Patient Care Technician (PCT). Students complete certification‑aligned training and clinical observation hours, preparing them for success on industry exams and for entry into the healthcare workforce immediately after graduation.
Both tracks offer students a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, clinical skills, and professional standards, empowering them to launch meaningful careers in the medical field.
Engineering
Blanche Ely’s Engineering Magnet Track empowers students to become innovative problem‑solvers through immersive, hands‑on learning. As a Distinguished Academy in Engineering, the program offers real‑world experiences such as bridge building, robotics, flight simulation, and aerospace studies. Students benefit from dual‑enrollment partnerships with Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University, allowing them to explore fields like Aerospace, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and Airport Management while earning college credit.
With access to industry‑recognized certifications and opportunities to compete, and win,in STEM competitions, including SECME Broward County Championships, students graduate prepared for high‑demand careers in engineering, technology, and aviation. The Engineering Track blends academic rigor, creativity, and industry partnerships to help students build a strong foundation for college and career success.
Career and Leadership Academies
Industry certification courses give students a powerful head start by equipping them with real-world skills long before graduation. At Blanche Ely High School, these courses open doors to college, careers, and scholarships, allowing students to build confidence, earn recognized credentials, and stand out in competitive fields.
